Daniel Shope

Project Role: Project Supervisor & Manager
Education: MechE, Carnegie Mellon University
Active Years: 2005-present

Bio:  I am a junior this year an am attending college for a degree in mechanical engineering. I have been designing websites since grade 7, and began computer programming in 2005 to assist in the creation of SIGMO.

I won the title of Grand Champion at the 2005 Franklin Science & Technology Fair. Thus began the work on SIGMO, an intelligent autonomous humanoid robot. The research really began in the fall of 2004, but was just something I was doing for fun, not for a project. Goes to show that even things that you least expect may indeed happen. Even if SIGMO is not a success at this year's science fairs, I plan on continuing SIGMO until I have it perfected.

Joshua Crouse

Project Role: General Fabrication; CNC machining

Active Years: 2006

Bio:  Currently a freshman at Shippensburg University, I am majoring in Management Information Systems and participate in the MIS Club. A few interests include computer programming, robotics, and outdoor recreation.

I am the father of QuizWhiz A+. I never thought that QuizWhiz A+ would have become what it is today, considering that it started as a small class project that could only support fifteen short answer questions. I am constantly modifying and rewriting its code to make it more efficient. It seems like every day I am exploring the possibilities and directions that it can go.
